Admin I will be driving up to Fort Dix, NJ from the Baltimore, MD area on July 3. The drive should ideally take about 3 hours, but I’ve heard that traffic will be horrible on the turnpike on that day, since it’s the day before July 4. Is this true? If so, how much extra time should I allow for the drive?
Also, I plan to leave Fort Dix, NJ to return to Baltimore, MD on July 5 sometime in the mid-late morning. Will traffic be horrible on the turnpike at that time on that day as well?

June 3rd, 2011 Admin Traveling south this weekend I saw a cop car with lights going headed north, followed by 4 highway maintenance trucks, blocking all of the lanes of traffic. They were traveling at about 30 mph. There was traffic backed up for about a mile following them. I’ve never seen this before and wondered if anyone could tell me the purpose of this?
May 24th, 2011 Admin So I’m 17 with a provisional license. I was already ticketed about 5 months ago for going 95 in a 55 on the turnpike, so this is my second offense.
It was slightly past curfew (11:05 maybe) and I was heading home (about 2 miles away) and I got to a traffic light. It was turning yellow, and I was already late home and past the curfew, so I tried to go through it. Turned out a cop was at the intersection and saw the whole thing.
He pulled me over, and only gave me one ticket for failure to observe signal(in reality I was breaking about 4 laws, so he was really nice).
Problem is that I’m not sure this ticket is valid. There is nothing written in the "prefix" box at the top of the ticket, and the box "court date required" is not checked, although he did set a court date for me.
What do I do? I can’t view the ticket info online because of the lack of a prefix.

I have never drive through Brooklyn before. Is it difficult in rush hour?

So today I was driving southbound on the good old Jersey Turnpike. So after the big merge at Exit 8A (which was a disaster in itself) I discobered something peculiar. On an overpass just after NJDOT leaves us notorists to fend for ourselves when soccer moms from Livingston, big riggers from Laredo, and everything inbetween are left to fend for thenselves when 9 lanes become 2 (my point: do something NJ!!!) and anyways on this overpass I saw a fire truck and a few ambulence parked on this bridge. Oh an accident I thought. And on the next overpass, another ensemble, only this time the firemeb were standing ontop of their trucks and waving, saluting, and fistpumping (yeaa Jersey Shore!!!) to us motorists. This cintinued for about the next 20 overpasses up right untill exit 7A ( where youvare apparrntly aloud to use the ramp shoulder in traffic eow.) This resulted into hornhonking and waving from drivers (and also a bit of a rubbernecking!) I observed also that the crews waved only to southvound drivers (we braved the lincoln tunnel after all! But really why?) aldo i saw this again at exit 1 (del riv bridge.) why? Any info appreciated sorry for typoes thx!!!

1) Is it NJ Turnpike to GS Parkway to I-80 to I-287, over Tapan Zee Bridge, reconnect to NY Thruway?
2) Or is it Take I-87 North Albany to I-84 East to Route 7 South to Norwalk, to I-95 E?
3) Or is it ALWAYS faster to take NJ Turnpike to GS Parkway to Fort Lee, GW Bridge, Cross Bronx, Hutchinson, NY Thruway, I-95 reconnect?
Or is there an even better way?
Also which way will cost you the least in tolls?
March 13th, 2011 Admin I got a ticket using my cell phone on the NJ turnpike but I live in Florida and there is no law about that in Florida so should I pay it or contest it?Thanks.
